Ride The Rapids

Join us for the 2nd Annual Ride the Rapids Deschutes River at the Wasco County Fairgrounds. The ride in 2021 brought people together to experience the amazing beauty of rural Maupin and raised funds for the Deschutes River Athletic Complex. We are coming back for another great day of riding and another push at fundraising for this world-class athletic training facility. All three rides take you along the Deschutes River, winding you along the rapids, climbing to beautiful vistas, showing off mountain views and an incredible waterfalls.
RIDES
There are three course distances to maximize the views, riding experience and safety for cyclists of every level. At the end of all routes, we will host an event expo, music, beer garden and food carts at the Wasco County Fairgrounds.
METRIC CENTURY RIDEThe metric century ride starts with a climb out of Historic Tygh Valley and circles around the Pine Hollow Reservoir for the best views of Mt. Hood on the East Side. The ride then proceeds down to the Fairgrounds and follows a loop past White River Falls, Shearar Falls and along the Deschutes River before stopping at the future Maupin Deschutes River Athletic Complex. The 3-mile climb out of Maupin will take you to the Juniper Flats to then speed down toward the Wasco County Fairgrounds. 61 Mile Ride With GPS
39 MILE RIDE
The 39 mile ride has gentle rolling hills, spectacular views along the Deschutes River, goes through the heart of Maupin and has a great spot to refuel at the future home of the Maupin Deschutes River Athletic Complex before a 3-mile climb out of town. Once you are on the Juniper Flats, the views of the cascade mountains surrounding the cyclists will keep the legs spinning all the way back to the Wasco County Fairgrounds. 39 Mile Route Map
