68th Annual Douglas County Veterans Day Parade

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners are honored and pleased to support our veterans and the annual Douglas County Veterans Day Parade that will commence in downtown Roseburg on Saturday, November 11, 2023, to honor our brave heroes at 11:00 am.    

The purpose of the annual Douglas County Veterans Day Parade is to thank and honor all those who put on the uniform and served honorably in the military - in wartime or peacetime.  

2023 marks the 68th consecutive Douglas County Veterans Day Parade.  1955 was the first official Veterans Day parade, in Douglas County, and they have occurred each year since. At one point in history, San Francisco and Roseburg were the only officially designated parade locations, on the West Coast, recognized by the President’s National Veterans Day Observance Committee. The long-standing custom of selecting a ceremonial Grand Marshal and a theme for each parade also continues.  

2023 Douglas County Veterans Day Parade applications and the parade poster are available online and can be downloaded at https://douglascountyor.gov/507/Veterans-Day-Parade-Committee.   Parade applications are due by Tuesday, October 31, 2023.   

Groups and individuals interested in participating in the parade can fill out the application and drop it off with the $5 fee at the Douglas County Veterans Service Office or the Douglas County Clerk Office.  
In conjunction with the Douglas County Veterans Day Parade Planning Committee, we are also very pleased to announce that the Douglas County Veterans Day Parade will be nationally recognized once again this year, as one of only 66 regional Veterans Day sites selected for Veterans Day observances across the United States, for 2023 by the National Veterans Day Committee.
