It quickly grew and was pulled off in just one week of planning. This year we aim to have a bigger and better light parade! We will also be fundraising for a local organization. If you are interested in participating in the parade\, watching the parade or donating to our cause you have come to the right place and all the information you need can be found right here on our website. Be sure to check out the community events page to see all the local holiday festivities\, the parade info page for all the information you need for this years event\, and the donate page to learn more about our partner organization\, South Coast Head Start\, and find out how you can get involved.\n\nThis year's parade theme is "Celebrate Magic and Joy" Presented by Ziply Fiber with after party hosted by Leona's Cafe. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nParade Info\n\nDate: Saturday December 17\, 2022\n\nTime: 6:00pm\n\nSign-in Starts: 5:00pm\n\nStaging Location: RCCS Bak Parking Lot and along 22nd\n\nEnding Location: 3rd St in Old Town\n\nAfter the Parade: Santa\, Music\, and Fun Hosted By Leona's Cafe doors open at 7:15pm to public. Senior and disabled residents may watch the parade inside the warmth of the cafe Doors open at 6pm. \n\nEntry Fee: One clean bag of bottles/cans or $5 donation(see details here) Waived when sponsoring a child in the Coat & Boot drive.\n\n \n\nThis year we are partnering with SOUTH COAST HEAD START\n\nSupporting families with young children in their quest for a brighter future\n\nSouth Coast Head Start\, a program of Oregon Coast Community Action\, promotes the school readiness of young children from low-income families. Birth to 5 programs support the mental\, social\, and emotional development of children. In addition to education services\, we provide children and their families with health\, nutrition\, social and other services. SCHS encourages the role of parents as their child's first and most important teachers. Central to all programming is the development of strong relationships with families that support positive parent-child relationships\, family well-being\, and connections to peers and the community. Our services are responsive to each child and family's ethnic\, cultural\, and linguistic heritage and builds on the strengths of each individual. \n\n In Reedsport\, we currently offer one preschool classroom and one infant-toddler classroom\, with space generously provided by the Reedsport School District. We are currently working to open another preschool classroom funded with Head Start and Preschool Promise grants. Funds raised from this project would support children's learning and development with purchasing new classroom materials and supplies.\n\nWe will be collecting clean\, empty bottles and cans before\, during\, and after the parade.
